I ran away from a Cult.
As a third-generation member of Jehovah's Witnesses, I grew up immersed in their world. Unfortunately, this came with its own set of challenges and traumas. From an early age, I experienced the pain of being shunned by my own family. The tragic loss of my father due to a refusal of a life-saving blood transfusion when I was just two years old further deepened my emotional wounds. On top of that, I endured abuse at the hands of a fellow Jehovah's Witness, creating an unhappy and unsafe environment within my own home.
I was homeless at 16
At 16 years old, I made the courageous decision to run away, leaving behind the religious trauma and high control of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Despite facing the uncertainty of homelessness, I knew that it was better to embrace the world than to continue in a cycle of unhappiness. Along my homeless journey, I found a place of safety and quickly secured employment and found an apartment, determined to create a better future for myself.
I survived a toxic marriage
Life had more challenges in store for me. At 22, I entered into a marriage that turned out to be filled with control and toxicity. Breaking free from thebelief that marriage should be lifelong was not easy. I also faced the fear of potential violence. However, I mustered the strength to escape the cycle of domestic abuse. Simultaneously, I became the sole breadwinner for my family when my husband chose to stop working. Determined to create a better future, I pursued higher education, earning my degree from a British university. This marked the beginning of my transformation and my commitment to healing and thriving.
I survived cancer and depression
During my marriage of 15 years, I faced postnatal depression and battled Hodgkin's disease, a form of blood cancer. Surviving this battle became a turning point for me, as it ignited a deep desire to examine the unhappiness that had plagued me for so long. I had to confront the toxic nature of my marriage and make the difficult decision to leave.
I threw myself into personal development
My personal journey led me to explore various modalities, including Jungian psychology, mindfulness, meditation, and mindset work. These transformative practices changed my life in profound ways and inspired me to share them with others experiencing life's challenges.
I transformed my pain into power by helping others
For the past 23 years, I have dedicated myself to helping empaths, overcomers, brave hearts, as well as ex-JWs, find their path to complete recovery and create the happy and contented lives they deserve.
I completely transformed my lifestyle
Today, my life is a testament to the power of healing and growth. I have found solace and fulfillment living on my boat, surrounded by nature and the company of seals, ducks, birds, my dog, cat, and kittens. I have embraced a peaceful and soulful lifestyle, enjoying walks, reading, and sharing laughter and Prosecco with my girlfriends. Simply being, meditating, reading, yachting holidays and live music bring me immense joy.
